Toledo Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Club of Toledo has had a tradition of supporting worthwhile community projects ever since its formation. All of this activity has been made possible by funds provided by the Toledo Rotary Foundation. Within its first five years, our club was instrumental in starting the Handicapped Children's School in Toledo in 1917, and handicapped children have been major beneficiaries of our charitable activities ever since.

The Toledo Rotary Foundation has also helped fund capital improvements at Camp Miakonda and construction of the Roy Loftus Memorial Building at Camp Pioneer. In addition, capital funds have also gone to the Catholic Club, Boys and Girls Club, the YMCA and YWCA, Salvation Army, Junior Achievement and various community centers.

Ongoing funding for the Foundation comes from Rotarians and community members. These dollars go directly to the charitable gifts the Toledo Rotary Foundation awards throughout the year. Over $150,000 annually has been distributed though grants.

The Legacy League

The Legacy League of the Toledo Rotary Foundation was formed to assure the long-term growth of the fund as a way to assure that the Foundation will always be able to maintain adequate support of the community most critical needs. By pledging future proceeds of a will, insurance policy, trust or other vehicle, Toledo Rotarians or community members are making a gift of a lifetime-a fitting legacy to their commitment to Rotary's ideal of humanitarian service. A person whose gift is valued at $25,000 or more will be honored with the Legacy Award. The qualified recipient receives a framed Legacy Award certificate, recognition in the annual directory and other appropriate recognition. If you would like to make a gift to the Toledo Rotary Foundation or become a member of the Legacy League, please email Christina Dunn.
